Caldwell Long Live the King

Robert Caldwell has been in the cigar business for quite some time, but has only been active under his own name since 2014. Before that, starting in 2012, he produced and sold cigars together with Christian Eiroa under the name Wynnwood. As one of the first three brands under the umbrella of Fabricas Unidas by Christian, the name is a tribute to Miami’s district known for its galleries and art exhibitions. Since its introduction in 2014, the brand has been very popular in the United States; the cool design and the distinctive naming of the lines and vitolas attract a lot of attention.

Robert Caldwell Cigars: Artistic Design Meets Excellent Flavor

I clearly remember that during a tour after IPCPR 2014, we asked a retailer near San Francisco what one should currently smoke or what he would recommend. As a result, Thorsten Wolfertz and we smoked our first Robert Caldwell cigars, which we have compiled here under the link above.

The entire line is rolled with a Dominican Corojo wrapper from 2008, which lies over a second 2009 Corojo as a binder from the Dominican Republic. The filler blend consists of 50% Dominican Ligero, 10% of the famous Angel Hair (Pelo de Oro) from Peru, and the remaining 40% of Nicaraguan Sun Grown. Interestingly, Robert writes this exactly the same way on his boxes – great transparency and very exciting information for the aficionado.

The Unique Tobacco Blend of the Robert Caldwell Line

In line with this melange, these cigars are not for the faint-hearted; they really pack a punch! Dominant earthy and woody notes with a hint of pepper give this very intense Dominican cigar real power – not for beginners or for the early morning.
