CAO Session
The CAO cigars are the “wild and unconventional” offerings within the STG (Scandinavian Tobacco Group) portfolio. Since being acquired from the Özgener family in 2014, numerous new lines have been introduced, such as the CAO Colombia and the CAO Pilon cigars.
CAO Session: Unique Flavors in Every Cigar
The very dark, almost greasy Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper used for the CAO Session sits atop a Dominican binder and a filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. These cigars are produced in the Dominican Republic, unlike all other non-flavored CAOs, which are made in Nicaragua. In terms of taste, they start off very intriguing; one might almost think the wrapper has been sweetened at the head, as the initial impression is distinctly sweet and aromatic. As they develop, the CAO Session cigars remain fairly mild in our opinion, even though the manufacturer classifies them as medium+. Alongside notes of coffee and wood, we found chocolate and cherry flavors particularly noticeable.
The Fascinating Flavor Profile of CAO Session Cigars
We would definitely smoke them again: the dark wrapper is a real eye-catcher, and the dark cherry-like sweet flavors are not something you come across very often!
