Davidoff Grand Cru

This line originally comprised five formats (No. 1 to No. 5), which Zino Davidoff introduced in 1946 as the first cigars bearing his name. Originally named "Chateaux," each cigar was named after a famous winery from the Bordeaux region. Both then and now, these five cigars are rich in flavor and aroma. Initially, these five vitolas were offered under the brand name "Hoyo de Monterrey." However, Zino "improved" them and offered them under his own name.

Apart from the newer series "Special" and "Millennium Blend," these Davidoff Grand Cru cigars are the most robust cigars crafted by Hendrik Kelner under the Davidoff brand. After the shift away from Cuba in 1990/1991, and the production relocated to the Dominican Republic, the name was changed to "Grand Cru." In 2017, the entire range underwent a review mainly due to packaging requirements and the warning labels needed to comply with the EU directive TPD2. Consequently, the No. 1 and No. 4 formats were discontinued, and the vitolas Toro and Robusto were introduced. Apparently, counting up to five proved too complicated for some aficionados, leading to a decision to use simpler and more self-explanatory format names again... :-)

Davidoff cigars and accessories are exclusively distributed worldwide through authorized dealers. This means they are not available everywhere but only in selected, high-quality, and controlled depots that meet the brand owner's stringent requirements.
