Davidoff Winston Churchill
The British statesman Winston Churchill left his mark not only on politics but also on the world of cigars. He was so well known for his preference for large Cuban cigars that the brand Romeo y Julieta named a vitola de salida (commercial name) after him: the Julieta No. 2 (vitola de galera), which is sold as the Romeo y Julieta Churchill.
Winston Churchill Cigars by Davidoff: A Tribute to the Statesman
The first cigar line launched in Germany under the name “Churchill” consisted of longfillers from Nicaragua, marketed by Dannemann around the turn of the millennium. The brand owner later sold the trademark rights to Oettinger/Davidoff, which introduced the first Winston Churchill cigar by Davidoff in 2008. Due to rather modest success, this line was discontinued in 2014 and replaced by the now highly successful series presented here.
Masterful Flavor: The Reimagined Winston Churchill Series
The packaging design was completely revised; with the now white outer boxes and cartons, the connection to Davidoff cigars is unmistakable. Not only the appearance was updated—the tobacco blend was also completely reworked. The filler is now a blend of five different tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The binder is a Mexican tobacco from the San Andrés region. The wrapper comes from Ecuador and adds a subtle creamy note, giving these now six different formats an overall fairly bold character with a peppery and woody foundation, complemented by nuances of coffee and nuts.
