Quesada Seleccion Espana
The Quesada Seleccion Espana were launched in 2012 as a special edition for the Spanish market. The formats are adapted to the local market and therefore rather small in size. At the Pro Cigar Festival in the spring of 2012, some cigars from this series were mistakenly given to US retailers by Manolo Quesada, who were enthusiastic and then tried to acquire some boxes for the American market themselves. In the USA, these Seleccion Espana are rather rare; there are also two very limited and scarce vitolas: a Lancero that was only released in a quantity of 12 boxes (!) in 2013 and a Ninfas introduced in early 2014.
The wrapper is an Arapiraca originally from Brazil, grown in Ecuador. This capa is known for its slight reddish hue, which in this case also contrasts beautifully with the cigar band. The binder comes from the Dominican Republic, as does part of the filler which is blended with tobaccos from Nicaragua.
The cigars have an earthy-leathery characteristic that exudes a touch of Cuba. This combination is accompanied by cocoa and citrus aromas. Overall, not strong, but very interesting cigars that reveal more subtle nuances as the smoker gains experience.
We are delighted to be able to offer you this brand exclusively on the German market since September 2014! Unlike some pictures on the internet, the second band of this series has been "dropped," meaning the Seleccion Espana is no longer explicitly featured on the cigar bands.
