Asylum Split Personality

With the new Asylum Split Personality cigar line, the house of Asylum presents an extraordinary addition to its range of flavored cigars. This series is aimed at aficionados seeking new taste experiences without compromising on craftsmanship and authentic tobacco character. With a medium-bodied profile and a harmonious interplay of sweetness and spice, it offers a modern take on the concept of flavored premium cigars. A gently sweet note caresses the palate, while the Honduran tobacco base provides substance and depth – a line that blends playful flavor with a serious passion for tobacco.

Origin and Background of the Series

The Split Personality cigars are produced in Honduras through close collaboration between Asylum and the CLE Cigar Company of Christian Eiroa. Both brands have long stood for quality, innovation, and a touch of humor in the cigar business. With series like the Asylum 867 Midnight Oil and the Asylum 867 Zero, the duo has already shown that flavored cigars can also appeal to discerning aficionados. Originally introduced in the U.S. under the name “Banana Split” – a nod to its flavor profile – the series is marketed in Germany as Split Personality to comply with local regulations. Still, the name fits perfectly, reflecting the cigar’s dual nature: artisanal and traditional on one side, seductively aromatic on the other.

Split Personality Cigars – Characterful Enjoyment

The cigars in the Split Personality line are Honduran puros with a sweetened tip and a lightly flavored wrapper. In Germany, they are currently available in a single format: the 5×50, a classic Robusto. Other vitolas produced – 40×4, 54×6, 60×6, and 70×7 – are not offered in Germany and are currently only available in the U.S. On the cold draw, delicate notes of vanilla, banana, caramel, and a hint of roasted nuts come through. The “split personality” presents a harmonious balance of sweetness, fruitiness, and tobacco spice, remaining pleasantly mild throughout the smoke without ever feeling dull. Naturally, flavored products like this often spark lively debate about whether such cigars are truly “smoke-worthy.” But as we all know, taste is subjective—and the strong sales of other flavored cigars such as the Tabak Especial by Drew Estate speak for themselves.

From Banana Split to Split Personality: Flavor Craft Meets Tobacco Artistry

With the Asylum Split Personality, the brand succeeds in establishing a playful yet serious line of enjoyment – ideal for fans of flavored cigars and for anyone looking to expand their flavor repertoire with a sophisticated, tropically creamy note. A cigar that proves bold flavor and true tobacco enjoyment don’t have to be mutually exclusive. And yes, all tobaccos used here are sourced from Honduras and produced at Tabacalera CLE S.A., overseen by Christian Eiroa.
