Cavalier Genève Black Series II
This cigar brand was founded in the early 2010s, with the first cigars hitting the market in 2015. The founder and owner is Sébastien Decoppet, a Swiss national who turned his passion for cigars into reality. It all began with a large number of emails he sent across the cigar industry to explore potential partnerships. He eventually connected with Maya Selva, owner of Flor de Selva Cigars, and that marked the beginning – the first Cavalier Genève Cigars were produced in her factory. Since August 2021, Cavalier Cigars have been manufactured in their own facility, the Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. (FCT) in Danlí, Honduras. With full control over every stage of production – from processing the leaves to final packaging – the brand is able to manage its operations precisely and implement vertical integration.
Cavalier Geneve Cigars: Swiss Passion Meets Honduran Craftsmanship
The factory currently employs 22 roller pairs who work in tight coordination. Production is deliberately kept small-scale and highly quality-focused. From time to time, the blends include rare tobaccos. A signature feature is the use of 24-karat gold leaf on the cigar bands, adding a distinctive visual element. The bands (anillas) on the vitolas and the design of the exclusive boxes were created by his friend David Rojas. The Cavalier Geneve Black II Series was initially developed for the American market due to its strength. Since summer 2017, it has also been available in Germany. The dark, oily-sheen wrapper of the Black Series II comes from the San Andrés Valley in Mexico, the binder from Nicaragua, and the filler is a blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
Exclusive Designs and Refined Materials: The Unique Features of the Cavalier Geneve Black II Series
The signature gold diamond on the wrapper – typical for this manufacturer – is featured here as well. A slim black secondary band is also placed below it, bearing the name Cavalier and depicting a horse (Cavalier means "gentleman" or "rider" in French). The cigars showcased here offer a medium-bodied profile, with dominant creamy and sweet notes, complemented by subtle hints of wood and pepper.
