CLE Signature THT-EKE 03/17 TAA

This cigar line reached us in the summer of 2025 and is definitely something special. There had already been a CLE Signature Series since 2014, but it has nothing to do with this one and was discontinued in 2025. The cigars discussed here were specially produced for the TAA, the Tobacconist Association of America, a U.S.-based cigar retailer association. The members meet once a year, usually at a beautiful location in the Caribbean or Mexico, to exchange ideas, share experiences, and plan joint initiatives. Not bad, getting this kind of trip paid for by the company!

CLE Signature THT EKE: Exclusive TAA Edition With Cameroon Hybrid

As this group holds considerable weight in the U.S., several manufacturers regularly launch special lines specifically for this occasion, which then hit the market as TAA Editions. The cigars presented here were introduced at the 2021 meeting. Apparently, the cigar business was a bit sluggish at that time—perhaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic—or the members were hesitant to commit. In any case, Christian Eiroa still had a good number of these special cigars in stock in spring 2025. His European representative, Marc Heipmann, with whom we maintain excellent relations, then suggested bringing this line to Europe exclusively for us. Said and done!

Cameroon Hybrid From Honduras: Spicy-Nutty Cigar Profile With Depth

The CLE Signature THT EKE line is rolled with a Honduran-grown Cameroon hybrid wrapper. The rest of the tobacco blend remains undisclosed, but we assume both binder and filler come from Honduras, as is usually the case with Zigars by CLE. Typically, Cameroon tobacco comes either from the African country of the same name or as Cameroon-seed from Ecuador. Christian Eiroa takes his own approach with this hybrid, whose wrapper shows the typical Cameroon characteristics. The line was originally announced as a contribution to the Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) and was later expanded to include regular production vitolas. The 11/18 vitola remains the defining and best-known signature format.

Limited CLE THT EKE Line: Aged Cigars With Creamy Texture and Structure

The Honduran Cameroon hybrid delivers a complex profile with nutty wood tones and a subtly creamy base. These are complemented by floral, herbal notes, and a hint of pepper. These cigars are well-suited for connoisseurs seeking Cameroon flavors with Honduran character, and who value clear structure, spice, and creamy texture. They are available exclusively through us and only in limited quantities. With an additional five years of aging, the flavors are deeply integrated and beautifully balanced, showing no harsh edges.
