Don Tomas Buena Fe

Since September 2026, Don Tomas Buena Fe has been part of the range from Don Tomas, a cigar brand owned by the Danish tobacco group STG (Scandinavian Tobacco Group). The blend combines a light Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with a Mexican binder. The filler contains tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Nicaragua and the USA. The cigars are made entirely by hand from whole tobacco leaves and are initially available in Germany in two sizes. Buena Fe means “good faith” or, depending on the context, “good intentions”. Hmm, what is STG’s marketing department trying to tell us?

Don Tomas Buena Fe: Filler from Four Countries

Don Tomas focuses on handmade cigars at comparatively low prices. The Buena Fe follows that approach, but uses filler tobaccos from four countries. Don Tomas cigars have been among the bestsellers in our online shop and store for many years. The Don Tomas Bundles from the Dominican Republic are particularly popular and frequently rank near the top of our sales charts.

Comparing the Buena Fe Lindos and Robusto

At 10.48 cm long with a ring gauge of 40, the Lindos is the shorter, slimmer size. Anyone who would like to try the same blend in a larger cigar can choose the Robusto, which measures 13.97 cm with a ring gauge of 50. Both sizes are available individually and in boxes of 25. Comparing the two vitolas should be interesting: even with an identical blend, length and ring gauge can affect how a cigar develops as it is smoked. The handmade cigars are produced in Honduras. Interestingly, the brand is not sold under this name in the USA. Between 2016 and 2020, there was already a Don Tomas line of bundled cigars from Honduras, although its blend had little in common with today’s cigars. Alongside Buena Fe, the current range includes two bundled lines (Dominican Republic and Nicaragua) and two further boxed lines (Brazil and Honduras).
