Diplomaticos Cigars

In 1966 the Diplomaticos have been introduced as a sub-brand of Montecristo. The flavor was quite simmilar to the well-known Montecristo’s. But overall they are milder than the Montecristos. Originally, they were available in sizes from 1-5, which were correspondend to the exact format of Montecristo.

Currently there is only one shape available of this Portfolio, the No. 2, a classic pyramid with 52-ring gauge and length of 156 mm. It provides very balanced aromas with excellent fire properties. It is identical to the shape of Montecristo No. 2 and has a similar taste but it is much milder. The Diplomaticos No. 2 is produced since 1966.

About the brand

Also the Diplomaticos were established after the revolution as well as other cuban brands like Cohiba. They were launched as a budget cigar in comparison to the Montecristos for the French market. Due to the fact, that the French are usually smoke milder cigars, the blend of Diplomaticos was adjusted accordingly.
