Don Pepin E.R.H
With the Don Pepin Garcia E.R.H. Series, a classic returns in a new guise. Cigars under this name first appeared in the 2000s and were reintroduced for the first time in 2014. This series represents the heritage and origins of the Garcia family and offers an intense cigar experience with a distinctive character. The blend combines a Sumatra Rosado Oscuro wrapper with select Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa—a finely balanced blend that unites strength, depth, and harmonious spice in perfect equilibrium. Aficionados appreciate the series for its full body, complex aromas, and the signature peppery profile that is typical of the Don Pepin Cigars style.
From Cuba to Miami to Estelí – The Story of the E.R.H. Series
Like many family-run cigar manufacturers, the Garcias have deep roots in the Cuban tobacco tradition. After emigrating from Cuba to the United States, their success story began in a small factory on Miami’s Calle Ocho—El Rey de los Habanos. This was the name under which the family’s first cigars were produced, before the brand evolved in Nicaragua into the world-renowned My Father Cigars. The My Father cigars were then further developed by Don Pepin’s son Jaime and daughter Janny into what would become the brand’s dominant and defining identity. With the relaunch of the E.R.H. line, the family pays tribute to these beginnings: it symbolizes the journey from humble craftsmanship to international premium quality—a living piece of cigar history.
Bold, Complex, and Unmistakable – The Don Pepin Garcia E.R.H. Cigars
The new E.R.H. Series impresses with a rich smoke and notes of roasted coffee, cedarwood, and earthy pepper. The Robusto offers an intense yet smooth smoking experience with a long finish, while the Toro allows for a particularly complex development of flavors thanks to its balanced format. The larger Toro Gordo reveals the full refinement of the blend—a masterpiece that already earned top ratings in previous versions. Each vitola is handcrafted at the My Father factory in Nicaragua—a promise of authenticity, passion, and the unmistakable signature of the Garcia family. Every cigar lover should try at least a few of these cigars from Nicaragua. My test stick was the Robusto, which wasted no time in showing me who’s boss – definitely not something for an empty stomach or for beginners!
