Dos Amigos 87
With the new Dos Amigos line, Jordi Llorens and Isidre Pineda present a project that combines traditional craftsmanship from Nicaragua with a modern flavor structure. These cigars are, of course, longfillers and 100% handmade. They are characterized by a harmonious composition of spice, sweetness, and earthy base notes. Launching in October 2025, the line will be available in two classic formats – Robusto and Toro – and is aimed at aficionados who appreciate well-balanced and aromatically complex cigars. Jordi is originally from Spain (or more precisely, Catalonia) and is based in Barcelona. He has been active in cigar distribution on the Spanish market for several years, for example with the cigars from Montes. As part of this work, he has now also started distributing several of these brands in Germany. This includes the cigars from Alfambra as well as the El Viejo Continente cigars by Daniel Guerrero.
Origin and Character
The Dos Amigos is produced in Nicaragua, featuring a finely textured Ecuador Rosado wrapper, a Jalapa binder, and a filler made from Nicaraguan tobaccos sourced from the Jalapa, Estelí, and Ometepe regions. The tobaccos, aged for at least two years, give the line depth and balance. During the smoke, notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a subtle sweetness unfold, accompanied by some roasted aromas and cocoa. Toward the end, more intense leather and nutty nuances come to the fore, making for a layered yet pleasantly smooth experience. This cigar was actually my personal highlight (!) at Intertabac 2025 in Dortmund. Jordi and his friend Isidre were present at the Kleinlagel booth and took time to answer the questions of the curious visitors. The story behind it is quite charming – the two friends were both born in 1987 and have always shared a deep passion for music. This is reflected in the design of the box and the cigar band, both of which are reminiscent of a classic, grooved vinyl record.
Vitolas of the Dos Amigos Line
The Robusto (5″ x 52) Paster impresses with its compact size and gently spicy development, ideal for shorter moments of enjoyment. I actually treated myself to this shorter format once more while writing this text. The Toro (6″ x 54) Sidecar develops a broader flavor spectrum and shows remarkable intensity in the final third, with a sweet-spicy finish. Both vitolas of these Nicaraguan cigars come in boxes of 20 and, of course, are also available individually from us. Thanks to the particularly close relationship with the aforementioned Daniel Guerrero, the Dos Amigos cigars are rolled at his Tabacalera Cociagsa.
