Helvada Dark Line Brain
With the Helvada Dark Line Brain, the third series of this (sub-)cigar brand from Switzerland arrived in June 2026. Helvada Cigars were launched in Switzerland by Daniel Schwiz (how fitting!) and combine Swiss quality standards with the opportunities offered by Nicaragua’s renowned tobacco-growing regions. To develop the blend, Daniel worked with experienced professionals from the cigar industry. A defining characteristic of Helvada is the variety of blends, with each series pursuing its own distinctive style. The Helvada Dark Line Skull represents the strongest blend within the three Skull lines, while the Helvada Dark Line Heart is the mildest. The first and therefore classic line from this company is the “red” Helvada Cigars, which we have carried in our shop since 2020.
Helvada Cigars – Swiss Concept, Nicaraguan Craftsmanship
With these cigars, the Swiss brand Helvada presents a series that goes far beyond the cigar experience itself. The striking design combines the themes of life and death, placing the human brain at the center alongside tobacco plants. According to the manufacturer, the artwork for these cigars was hand-drawn by a tattoo artist from Barcelona, giving these Nicaraguan cigars a distinctive identity. Behind the name Brain lies a personal and tragic story that illustrates how closely health, mortality, and the joy of life can be connected. A friend of Daniel suffered a life-threatening cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, which fortunately could be treated successfully. This experience made him realize how often life and death are separated by only a fine line and how grateful one can be to have access to modern, advanced medicine when things become critical.
Helvada Dark Line Brain – Flavorful Cigars With Depth
The Helvada Dark Line Brain is based on a carefully balanced filler blend and features an H-2000 wrapper, two Seco binders from Condega, and Nicaraguan Viso Hybrid H-100 as the filler. The result is a rather mild yet well-balanced cigar that delivers delicate notes of cedar wood and subtle leather from the very first draw. As the smoke progresses, a pleasant nutty nuance emerges, adding greater depth to the blend.
