Loaisiga Infiel Connecticut

The first thing that naturally caught my eye was the unusual name—I had to look several times and say it slowly to myself before I managed it without stumbling; Lo-Ei-Siga was my mnemonic, and I hope that's roughly how it's pronounced. Now that we've cleared that up, we can focus on the Loaisiga Infiel Cigars! Founder and namesake Silvio Loaisiga has been active in the cigar industry for over 20 years, spending most of that time employed by industry heavyweight Nick Perdomo, where he developed his deep understanding of tobacco and premium cigar production down to the smallest detail. As he himself admits, leaving was not an easy decision; perhaps the positive and highly successful example set by Oscar Valladares inspired him—Oscar spent many years working for Rocky Patel before going out on his own.

Loaisiga Infiel Cigars: Innovative Blends by Silvio Loaisiga

Together with his business partner José Antonio Ortega, he founded Loaisiga Cigars, and the Infiel line became their first brand. "Infiel" means "unfaithful" in Spanish, possibly an expression of his guilty conscience for having become somewhat "unfaithful" to Nick Perdomo. The Tabacalera Loaisiga in Estelí employs around 70 people locally, with another 100 in distribution across international markets. Initially launched in the U.S., Honduras, and Guatemala, they've been targeting the German market since the summer of 2025 with distribution partner Jordi Carrio of Feine Puros and the importer Kleinlagel from Obergrombach near Bruchsal.

Infiel Maduro, Sun Grown & Connecticut: One Wrapper, Three Characters

The Loaisiga Infiel cigars are available in three distinct versions, differentiated solely by the wrapper leaf. Although it seems minor, industry experts often assert that the thin wrapper leaf influences more than 50% of a cigar’s flavor profile. Thus, it makes sense that the blends differ exclusively in their wrappers, a practice also frequently employed by his mentor, Nick Perdomo. The bright Infiel Connecticut presented here tastes floral and herbal with a subtle bitterness in the first third, as "expected." The second third remains consistent but develops slightly more body with moderate woody notes. Towards the end, the bitterness intensifies slightly, gently reminding me to smoke a bit more slowly—something that occasionally happens to me during tastings and writing when I smoke "absent-mindedly" too quickly.

Infiel Cigars: Ecuador Wrappers Meet Nicaraguan Tobacco

The variant presented here with a Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador is certainly the mildest. The Sun Grown with its darker Ecuadorian wrapper is the medium-bodied alternative, while the highly aromatic, dark Infiel Maduro featuring a Mexican San Andres wrapper represents the peak in terms of strength. The Loaisiga Infiel cigars were created for aficionados who appreciate unconventional and non-traditional blends. Each vitola is rolled with carefully aged Nicaraguan tobacco in the filler and binder.
