VegaFina Nicaragua
Vegafina cigars have been highly popular and successful in Europe since the early 2000s. Initially introduced in Spain, where they remain the best-selling non-Cuban cigars, they are now available almost everywhere across the Old World. The series described here was presented at the Inter Tabac 2014 in Dortmund, highlighting the growing importance of the origin Nicaragua, renowned for producing aromatic and typically fuller-bodied cigars. Today, Vegafina cigars are distributed by the experienced and highly diligent distributor 5th Avenue, significantly boosting their popularity and reputation since the early 2020s.
Tabacalera Garcia: Nicaraguan Tobaccos for Vegafina Cigars
Indeed, FAP (5th Avenue Products) is also the sole importer of Cuban cigars to Germany—initially somewhat surprising, considering "the Cubans" had long been exclusively distributed. However, since the British conglomerate Imperial Tobacco sold 50% of Habanos SA (the international distributor of Cuban cigars) to a Far Eastern investment group, cigar brands produced at Tabacalera Garcia in the Dominican Republic have been grouped under the same umbrella. Essentially, Imperial aimed to eliminate all "traditional" tobacco products from its range—a strategy considered utterly absurd just 10 to 20 years ago. Given the current limited availability of Habanos, the highly professional sales team was able to successfully market other renowned series from the same corporate family. This strategy has proven impressively successful over recent years!
Vegafina Cigars from Jalapa and Esteli – Nicaragua’s Aromatic Diversity
Just like their lighter "sisters," the Vegafina Clasica cigars, these cigars are crafted in the aforementioned Tabacalera Garcia factory in the Dominican Republic. Interestingly, all tobaccos used originate from Nicaragua, harvested from the country's two prime growing regions, Jalapa and Esteli. Before rolling, the raw tobaccos are aged for at least four years.
Vegafina Nicaragua: Full-Bodied Cigars with a Spicy Character
In terms of flavor, these medium-strength cigars lean towards woody, roasted notes, complemented by hints of sweetness, nuts, and coffee. They are typical Nicaraguan cigars, designed to broaden the circle of Vegafina cigar enthusiasts, particularly appealing to experienced aficionados who may have found the classic, lighter, milder variants of the Clasica series somewhat too mild. Here you will find an overview of all Vegafina cigars!
