Camacho Cigars – Tradition and Strength

The brand Camacho is synonymous among aficionados with medium to full-bodied cigars of the highest quality. The company has a rich and eventful history: founder Simon Camacho was forced to leave his homeland, Cuba, due to land reforms following Fidel Castro's revolution and settled in Florida. There, he established a company that quickly rose to international prominence, counting among its satisfied customers none other than Winston Churchill. In the mid-1990s, the company, now owned by the Eiroa family, returned to Central America, where Camacho cigars have since been produced in Honduras.

The World of Camacho Cigars

In 2008, the Eiroas sold the brand rights and the Tabacalera Rancho Jamastran to the Swiss holding company Oettinger Davidoff for a reported $35 million. Christian Eiroa remained involved for several years before re-entering the cigar market in 2012 with his own creations.

His new brands, CLE and Eiroa, have since made waves. His Tabacaleras Unidas and the new factory El Aladino in Danlí, Honduras, have become key players in the Honduran and Nicaraguan cigar industries.

Relaunch in 2014

In 2014, the brand, now part of the Oettinger Davidoff Group, reinvented its image: power and strength became the dominant themes, a message Camacho made impossible to ignore. With pride, Camacho announced they had "turned up the volume." Reflecting this bold new identity, the Camacho logo now features a scorpion and the confident tagline “The Bold Standard.”

However, the brand has not abandoned its roots. The successful and renowned product line remains, with carefully considered "optimizations" to the blends based on the familiar and beloved profiles. Formats such as Corona, Robusto, and Toro have been retained. Flavors are subtly enhanced—but never timidly—because uncompromising boldness is the defining characteristic of a Camacho cigar. Camacho seamlessly combines decades of expertise with an ambitious drive to set new standards in the production of full-bodied cigars.

To avoid confusion, we have organized the newly introduced series into distinct categories. Currently available in Germany are the Camacho editions in the following varieties: Corojo, Connecticut, Ecuador, Nicaragua, as well as the Liberty Series and the Brotherhood Series.
