Eiroa Cigars – A Family, A Legend
You may have never heard the name Eiroa, yet you may have already enjoyed one of the family's exquisite cigars. Christian Eiroa and his father Julio were the masterminds behind Camacho. They didn’t just revive the nearly forgotten brand—they turned it into a global success.
Christian Eiroa and His Passion for Cigars
But none of that has kept him from dedicating himself to what he truly loves: crafting premium cigars. After an interim phase on the payroll of Davidoff and taking a brief hiatus, he returned to the scene. First with his own brand CLE, and then under his own family name. Because for the Eiroas, tobacco is a family affair: They cultivate their own plantations and roll cigars in their own factory, Tabacalera El Aladino, in Honduras.

This naturally sparked interest—not just among aficionados. Eventually, Oettinger Davidoff stepped in, acquiring the brand in 2008. The deal was reportedly worth a mid-eight-figure sum. It is said that Christian Eiroa now drives an Italian sports car and owns a beautiful boat.
Craftsmanship in Perfection: Eiroa Cigars
The journey began in the mid-2010s with the medium-bodied, highly aromatic Eiroa Classic. The CBT Maduro is extraordinary in that it uses Maduro tobacco for the filler, binder, and wrapper—something Christian Eiroa had experimented with in his "first career."

For The First 20 Years, it wasn’t Christian, but his father Julio who took the lead. He revived a wrapper leaf that had not been used in over half a century.
