Importer Arnold André has proven with Buenavista, and above all with the exclusive Carlos André, that he is fully capable of blending outstanding cigars himself. Montosa expands the company’s own portfolio with another brand.

Montosa Cigars: From Arnold André’s Own Tabacalera

Arnold André’s home has always been the German cigar town of Bünde. But since the 2010s, this East Westphalian company has also been running its own tabacalera in the Dominican Republic. It's located in the so-called "Cigar Capital of the World", as Santiago de los Caballeros in northern Hispaniola is often called. In the heart of the fertile Cibao Valley, where tobacco and sugar cane thrive, many cigar manufacturers have set up shop. Arnold André La Dominicana is one of the younger players among them.

Arnold André’s investment in its own tabacalera on-site provides the long-established company with two major advantages. First, it allows for greater independence in production. In an era where supply chain security has become a critical topic, Arnold André now keeps a significantly larger part of its production in-house. Second, its own factory serves as a laboratory. In the cigar’s country of origin, original ideas are tested, visions pursued – and new products launched.

Montosa – Already the Third Cigar Brand

Before Montosa, we already got to enjoy the exciting Buenavista Cigars and the highly refined Carlos André. Since 2019, the Montosa Claro has been part of the portfolio of these seasoned connoisseurs.

The master blenders spent a full three years working until they were completely satisfied with the result: mild, approachable cigars that still offer a deep and complex flavor profile.

Cigars

One year later, Maduro joined Claro. “Bold, masterful, Maduro!” proclaims Arnold André, showing that the journey is now heading in a different direction: noticeably spicier and more intense – yet Montosa Maduro remains smooth and balanced, thanks to its Mexican Sumatra wrapper.

Cigarillos

Arnold André has also long proven to be an expert when it comes to cigarillos, with Clubmaster having showcased this expertise for over half a century. This exceptional know-how also pays off in the case of the Montosa shortfillers. “The pleasure cigarillos from the heart of the Dominican Republic!” – that’s the slogan, and it certainly delivers on its promise.

Montosa Signature Rum – For the Perfect Pairing

Two excellent cigar series and truly fine cigarillos on top – that’s a recipe for a dry throat during a tasting session. But Arnold André has that covered too, offering two kinds of rum, just as is customary with Montosa – one in Claro and one in Maduro. We can highly recommend both – perfect for pairing, but also delicious on their own!
