Anne Julie is certainly one of the best-known and most sought-after pipe makers in the world. Not only was she one of the first women to enter this male domain in the 1970s, but she also left a lasting mark on the Danish pipe world.

She was originally the wife of pipe maker Poul Rasmussen, who died suddenly at an early age. Left on her own with her young son, she decided to continue her husband's craft. None other than Hans ‘Former’ Nielsen helped her.

Her style was initially deeply rooted in Danish design, but changed over time and became much more eccentric and playful.

In addition to making pipes, Anne Julie is a successful painter and is active as an artist in many fields. She also worked as a designer for Stanwell.
