Brigham Mountaineer

Important note: Based on our own experience and that of our customers, we recommend smoking Brigham pipes without filters. With the maple wood filters, there are always fitting problems which lead to the filter getting permanently stuck in the mouthpiece.

The history of the Canadian company Brigham begins in 1906, when Roy Brigham opened a workshop for pipe repair in Toronto. The business flourished, and in 1935 his son Herb joined in the future to market the pipes he had by then produced himself.

Brigham invented his own filter system, the "Rock Maple Insert", a very durable filter made of particularly hard but porous maple wood, which came on the market as early as 1938 and quickly made the company famous.

Even today, all Brigham pipes have the maple wood filter. It is so popular that the majority of all pipes sold in Canada are Brigham pipes. Brigham is also very popular in the USA.

The advantage of the filter is that it can be used several times, absorbs a lot of condensate and moisture, and yet does not significantly increase the tensile properties. In addition, it is made from regional, renewable and non-fossil raw materials.

Filters are available here: Brigham Rock Maple Distillators

Brigham Mountaineer pipes have a smooth, polished surface and an acrylic mouthpiece. There are seven different, classic shapes available, which are extremely elegant due to their slim lines.
