Just like the cigars, the tobacco factory also shares the same name: Artista Cigars is a family-run business in Tamboril. This city, located near Santiago de los Caballeros, is considered the cigar capital of the world, boasting more cigar factories than anywhere else on Earth.
Founded over 60 years ago, the company is now led by Radhames "Ram" Rodriguez, the founder's grandson. Ram renamed the factory Artista Cigars, inspired by the idea that everyone who creates cigars is an artist. With 500 hectares of tobacco plantations, proprietary hybrid strains, and a passion for experimentation, Artista Cigars is one of the most innovative producers in the Cibao Valley.

With the Big Papi by David Ortiz, Artista Cigars achieved an extraordinary cigar that has gained many fans in the USA. The prominent baseball player David Ortiz, with Dominican roots, collaborated with Artista Cigars to develop a vitola that scored 93 points in the Cigar Journal.
