Aureum Connecticut
The Connecticut Series from Aureum Cigars is aimed at aficionados looking for balanced cigars from Costa Rica with a smooth character. The light Connecticut wrappers are a perfect match for Aureum's philosophy of viewing tobacco as a valuable natural product. The result is a range of handmade longfillers characterized by a harmonious smoke and easy accessibility. This makes the series suitable both as an introduction to the world of Aureum Cigars and for experienced aficionados who appreciate mild premium cigars. Our fellow retailer Sebastian Gollas from Starke Zigarren in Berlin came up with the idea during a trip through South America. While visiting the Gold Museum in the Colombian capital of Bogota, he was inspired to launch a cigar series based on this central concept. Aureum is the adjective derived from Aurum (Latin for gold) and therefore means something along the lines of “golden” or “gilded”.
Aureum Connecticut – Light Cigars from Costa Rica
Behind Aureum is the idea “When tobacco becomes gold”, inspired by the cultural significance of tobacco and the esteem in which it has historically been held. The cigars are made in the traditional cigar-producing region of Puriscal in Costa Rica. Incidentally, Costa Rica is Nicaragua's southern neighbor. So they certainly know how to roll a good cigar here, too. This is where longfillers are created that combine craftsmanship, provenance, and a conscious culture of enjoyment. The Connecticut Series embodies this philosophy with a particularly smooth blend and stands for elegant cigars whose strength lies in their refined balance rather than intensity.
Robusto and Toro Compared: Aureum Connecticut Cigars
The Aureum Connecticut Robusto presents the blend in a compact format with a 52 ring gauge. It is pleasantly rounded and harmonious, making it an excellent choice as a stylish everyday cigar or as an introduction to the world of Aureum. The Aureum Connecticut Toro offers the same smooth character in a longer format. This gives the blend more room to develop and provides a relaxed, even smoking experience. Both cigars are available in boxes of 20 and are recommended for aficionados who prefer high-quality Costa Rican cigars with mild aromas and a well-balanced profile. When creating the texts for this brand, I opted for a limited special edition, the Aureum Pennsylvania Toro Extra, which promised a little more “oomph” thanks to the American tobacco in the filler – and it certainly delivered!
