Alejandro Lopez Dominicana
These cigars are crafted in the Dominican Republic using exclusively local tobaccos. A consistent, linear very mild flavor and an extremely attractive price make this series an affordable everyday smoke for in between. Last but not least: the impressive cigar band is sure to catch the eye of your neighbor in the cigar lounge.
Alejandro Lopez Cigars: Traditional Dominican Quality at an Affordable Price
The visually very powerful Gordo was added as the latest format in the Alejandro Lopez range. A great size, plenty of smoke, and likewise very mild – making it our recommendation for the aficionado seeking a consistent, uncomplicated smoking experience. The family of Alejandro Lopez originally comes from the Spanish province of Asturias. Don Alejandro emigrated to Panama in 1886 at the age of 20. There, he cultivated high-quality tobaccos for the growing cigar industry in the Chiriquí region. In 1910, he eventually relocated with his family to the Dominican Republic, where he once again devoted himself to tobacco cultivation and built a strong reputation. Almost 10 years later, he opened his first cigar factory near what is now the cigar capital of the Dominican Republic, Santiago de los Caballeros, which he operated until his death in 1948.
Cigars by Alejandro Lopez: A Touch of History in Every Draw
Today, the cigars bearing his name once again represent what they stood for over 60 years ago: finest Dominican longfillers (rolled from whole leaves) made from selected tobaccos with consistently high quality. As Alejandro Lopez cigars are not delivered in elaborate wooden boxes but packaged in bundles of 10, they can be offered at a particularly attractive price. In summer 2023, the original cigar importer Darier & Cleef from Hamburg ceased operations; since then, they have been distributed throughout Germany by the import company Kopp Tobaccos.
