Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva (before: Classic)

This is the traditional, classic series from Arturo Fuente. A very aromatic blend of Dominican tobaccos in the filler and as the binder is crowned by an original African wrapper from Cameroon. Originally fitted with a light wrapper from Connecticut, Carlos Fuente Jr. (Carlito) personally decided in the 1990s to henceforth use the spicier, fuller wrapper from Central Africa. In his opinion, this also harmonizes much better with the tobaccos of the filler blend. All Arturo Fuente cigars are, by Dominican standards, rather full-bodied, characterful cigars, which is partly due to the fact that at least four different types of tobacco are used for the filler. This results in an incredibly broad spectrum of aromas.

In this regard, the Fuentes benefited from their personal, close connections to the Meerapfel family, the world’s leading supplier of this special wrapper. These leaves are so rare because the political conditions in the best growing region, the Central African Republic, are unstable, making long-term planning and orderly tobacco cultivation almost impossible. Since 1912, the family, led by Carlos Fuente (hence the small thick cigar Don Carlos), has been producing cigars.
