Arturo Fuente Opus X Forbidden X

The colleague responsible for SEO here at our company had split various series of Arturo Fuente Cigars into numerous new sub-series, which then also needed to be newly described. On the one hand, this is quite a lot of additional work; on the other hand, it provides a reason to “have to” try these very rare and exclusive cigars for once. So, to write this text, I lit up a Pasion D'Amor Churchill. The cigar is worth its price—so much so that you really don’t feel like putting it down just to start typing! But let’s start from the beginning.

Forbidden X 13: The Most Sought-After Cigars by Arturo Fuente

The first version of these cigars was released on the US market in 2011. The name Forbidden X 13 has since been used in numerous special series by this renowned manufacturer, all of which sold out so quickly that they were practically impossible to find anywhere. The four formats that fortunately made their way to Germany were introduced in 2020. With all “premium” cigars from Fuente, things tend to follow the same pattern: the importer is happy to receive any at all and asks a few selected retailers whether they would like some. If they can think straight, they always say yes immediately—regardless of the cigar or its price. Fans of Arturo Fuente cigars worldwide are “on the hunt” for these treasures. Alongside Cuban cigars, they are the only ones that can “get away” with such prices and still consistently sell out very quickly.

Arturo Fuente Cigars: Luxury and Exclusivity Combined

My Churchill started off very restrained, very fine and subtle, with slightly grassy and woody notes and no sharpness whatsoever. Surprisingly, I experienced a slight uneven burn in the first two centimeters, which, however, could be corrected with a bit of touch-up and did not reoccur throughout the rest of the smoke. In the second and final third, fruity aromas and a good amount of roasted flavors join in—exactly my kind of profile. These are in fact almost mild, yet very pleasant and, in the truest sense of the word, refined cigars that are meant to be enjoyed calmly and thoughtfully. The manufacturer does not disclose the exact origin of the components; however, we assume that all three parts are entirely of Dominican origin.
