Capadura Cigars
These cigars are produced in the small Don Esteban manufactory in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. Our relationship with this tabacalera has grown over the past 20 years—in fact, we have been working with the owner and managing director Oskar Nausch for just as long. Interestingly, he originally comes from Wuppertal, so practically “just around the corner” from here, and emigrated there a long time ago. Today, he is a well-established figure in the industry, supplying not only us but also other customers mainly in Switzerland and Austria with the brands Samana, Cibao, many private labels, and these cigars from Capadura.
Capadura Cigars: A Taste Experience from the Dominican Republic
As these Capadura cigars are already well established in other markets and sell extremely well there, Oskar asked us to introduce and distribute these lines in Germany as well. We were happy to do so and have included them in our portfolio since June 2021. The filler consists of Dominican Piloto and Mata Norte from Brazil. The binder also comes from the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic) and is finished with an oily, dark wrapper from Ecuador (Cameroon Seed).
The Masterpieces of Don Esteban: Capadura Cigars
This results in a full-bodied, slightly chocolatey, “rich” flavor with a medium strength profile. We are always impressed by how Brazilian tobaccos positively influence the taste of a cigar. By the way, he also produces our private label Domaine de Lavalette cigars.
