Davidoff 702

Things are happening at Davidoff - in the spring of 2017, four new vitolas were introduced to the German market as reinterpretations of popular classics. The Dominican master blenders decided to leave the filler and binder tobaccos untouched and only change the wrapper. For the new and limited Davidoff 702, an Ecuadorian wrapper was used this time, the specifics of which cannot legally be mentioned in Germany anymore. Just this much can be said, it starts with the letter "H"...

This new wrapper is a hybrid of three seeds (those mentioned earlier) and offers a more intense, spicier smoking experience with additional flavors. The "classic" blends are often characterized by floral and grassy notes, but here it leans more towards earthy and peppery tones. The manufacturer itself states that the taste is 60-70% more intense (how do you measure that?) and offers additional flavors of cream, café au lait, and spice. The name 702 is derived from the internal designation of the wrapper, which is exclusively grown for Davidoff in Ecuador.

Accordingly, these specialties are aimed at aficionados who find the classic Dominican cigars of this brand too mild and/or at connoisseurs who would like to experience how much the exclusive change of the wrapper affects the overall character. According to the manufacturer, these rarities are limited, but when we inquired, we were not told how many have been produced.
