The Dominican master blenders decided to leave the filler and binder unchanged and only modify the wrapper. For the new and limited Davidoff 702, an Ecuadorian wrapper was used, whose specific designation may no longer be legally mentioned in Germany. Let’s just say: it starts with the letter “H”!

Davidoff 702 Series: A Revolutionary Smoking Experience Through an Innovative Wrapper

This new wrapper is a hybrid of three seeds (the one hinted at earlier) and delivers a more intense, spicier smoking experience with additional flavor nuances. The “classic” Davidoff Cigars are often characterized by floral and grassy notes; here, the profile leans more toward earthy and peppery tones. According to the manufacturer, the flavor is 60–70% more intense, offering additional notes of cream, café au lait, and spice. The name 702 is derived from the internal designation of the wrapper, which is grown exclusively for Davidoff in Ecuador.

These specialties are aimed at aficionados who find the classic Dominican cigars of this brand too mild, and/or those who want to experience how much impact a change in the wrapper alone can have on the overall character. According to the manufacturer, these cigars are limited, although no specific production numbers were disclosed upon request.
