A Corojo 99 from Ecuador serves as the wrapper for the 71th Anniversary, while the binder comes from San Andrés in Mexico. The filler combines Dominican tobaccos, including the rare Coreis and a barrel-aged H-2000. Diaz ventures into new territory here: for the first time, parts of the filler come from San Juan de la Maguana and Las Matas de Farfán. This growing region is known for its mineral-rich soil, which gives the tobacco unique intensity and a creamy note.

Eine mittelkräftige Zigarre mit einer köstlichen Würze. Die Verarbeitung ist gut bis sehr gut; der Zug ist optimal; der Abband erfordert gelegentlich Korrekturen. Erdig-blumige Grundaromen bei mäßiger Pfeffernote und feinwürziger Zeder. Griffige und abwechslungsreich strukturierte Textur mit reichhaltigen Zwischennoten von Toast, Kaffee, Nüssen und Trockenfrüchten. Florale und mineralische Anteile sind mustergültig ausbalanciert. Der Rauchverlauf ist linear. Aber das stört hier nicht weiter.
