Kristoff Ligero Criollo

These cigars were among the first that we imported directly from Kristoff back in 2012. We were familiar with these flavor-rich and highly intriguing cigars from our visits to trade shows in the USA and were determined to bring them to Germany. Since the summer of 2015, all Kristoff cigars in Germany have been distributed by the importing house Kleinlagel from Bruchsal. In the Ligero variation of the Criollo, a roughly twice as high proportion (around 70%) of the stronger tobacco from the upper part of the tobacco plant is blended into the filler. This robust ingredient from Nicaragua leads this series toward a fuller, more flavor-rich direction, delivering a noticeably more intense experience compared to the "regular" Criollo.

With its Dominican and Honduran tobaccos in the filler, a binder from the Dominican Republic, and a Honduran Criollo as the wrapper, it is structurally similar to its milder "sibling," the Original Criollo. However, it is aimed at the more experienced smoker seeking a full-bodied experience with depth and abundant flavor.

In addition to the familiar almond and spice notes, a woody undertone with a sweet finish accompanies them. You can find the "regular" version called Kristoff Original Criollo through the preceding link. By the way, the name of the cigar brand is derived from the owner Glen Case's son, Christopher Case. Mr. Papa liked the spelling with the strong "K" and double "F's" at the end better visually, hence the visually distinctive name.
