Patoro VA
The cigar brand Patoro, founded by Patrick J. Martin, has been in existence since 2001 and has significantly strengthened itself since the spring of 2015. With Dr. Pablo Richard Schneider, the grandson of the legendary former Davidoff CEO Dr. Ernst Schneider, and Carlos Andres, a former employee of the Swiss cigar conglomerate, a powerful management team is now at the helm.
The name Patoro is composed of the first three letters of the founder's first name and the Spanish word for Gold: Oro. Thus, what belongs together grows together, giving rise to the brand Patoro.
The cigars presented here from the Very Aged series, abbreviated as VA, are definitely the high-end cigars of this premium brand, with individual prices exceeding €30. But as the "old" Davidoff used to say, smoke less, but better! Of the two vitolas available in Germany, the Extra Robusto is definitely the stronger one by far.
These cigars impress with spicy notes of fresh coffee, dark chocolate, and a velvety-spicy sweetness. The very harmonious, yet still rustic, earthy, and woody flavors round off the smoking experience. The precious wrapper makes the VA cigars a visual delight as well.
