Patoro Vintage

The name of the high-end cigar brand Patoro is composed of the first three letters of the founder's first name, Patrick J. Martin, and the Spanish word for Gold, "Oro".

Until early 2015, Patrick was only represented in Germany with two lines of cigars, the Gran Anejo Reserva and the Platino. This Patoro Vintage introduced here is part of a significant expansion of the portfolio in 2015, when a total of four additional series of Patoro cigars were introduced in Germany. The Swiss entrepreneur used to work at Davidoff in the 1990s before becoming independent in 2001. The cigars are manufactured in the Tabacalera Corporación Cigar Export, S.R.L. by Augusto Reyes in the Dominican Republic and interestingly distributed in the USA by CLE Cigars, the new venture of Christian Eiroa.

This line consists of only one format, a classic Robusto with dimensions of 5 x 50, meaning a length of 5 inches and a diameter of 1.98 centimeters, which corresponds to a ring gauge of 50.

In principle, it is the same blend as the cigars in the Gran Anejo Reserva series, but they have been enhanced with a ten-year-old wrapper. These give these Vintage cigars a particularly rounded and refined aroma. Earthy and woody notes characterize the blend, with additional flavors of coffee and roasted nuts enhancing the enjoyment. Since early 2015, two more individuals associated with the name Davidoff have been on board. Both Dr. Pablo Richard Schneider, the grandson of the longtime Davidoff CEO Dr. Ernst Schneider, and Carlos Andres supported Patrick in his founded company at that time. (Carlos moved on to the importer Arnold André in 2017.) Pablo is a cosmetic surgeon by profession (!) and comes from the part of the family that was generously compensated by Oettinger-Davidoff some time ago. During a "visiting" here in the Cigarworld Lounge in the spring of 2015, we had the opportunity to discuss his new role in detail; he is a very personable individual and has no airs, "despite" his grandfather's fame.
