Timeless Sterling

The Timeless Sterling from Ferio Tego is a fully hand-rolled premium cigar from the Dominican Republic. The blend features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with a Dominican binder and Dominican filler. The result is a classic Connecticut cigar of medium strength with a balanced structure and a creamy texture. The line is positioned in the upper segment and is aimed at aficionados who appreciate a traditionally crafted, harmonious flavor profile. Production takes place at Tabacalera Tabacos de Exportación, operated by the Quesada family.

Timeless Sterling by Ferio Tego – Renowned Dominican Longfillers

Now that the basics are covered, let’s move on to the more interesting part! The Timeless cigars trace their origins back to the legendary Nat Sherman cigar shop in New York, which was acquired in 2017 by the international corporation Altria. Altria, among other things the holder of the trademark rights to Marlboro, announced just two years later that it would completely withdraw from the premium cigar business. Alongside the well-known Nat Sherman Townhouse in Manhattan, all trademark rights to Nat Sherman’s proprietary lines were also put up for sale.

This ultimately led to what could be described as a delayed management buyout, as the former head of the cigar division, Michael Herklots, previously Vice President at Nat Sherman International, was able to repurchase the lines he had created. Together with former colleague Brendon Scott, he founded the distribution company Ferio Tego LLC in 2021, which has since once again been offering the Timeless cigars, the Metropolitan cigars, and the Ferio Tego cigars internationally. These and other lines are those that Herklots either newly developed or fundamentally revised during his nine years at Nat Sherman. The name Ferio Tego is derived from the Herklots family crest, whose origins date back to 1641. The crest will also serve as the company logo going forward. Literally, the expression can be translated roughly as “I strike and I protect”, or more freely as “I act and preserve.”

The Timeless Sterling is available in several classic vitolas and can be purchased individually or in a box of 10. With ring gauges ranging from 42 to 50, the line offers suitable formats for different smoking durations and preferences – from slim vitolas to more voluminous cigars with greater smoke output.
