Flor de Copan Linea Puros
The cigars from Flor de Copan Linea Puros are entirely handmade long-fillers produced in the city of Santa Rosa de Copán in Honduras. Incidentally, the Tabacalera bears exactly the same name as the cigar series. Several centuries ago, the Maya were already cultivating tobacco here in the border region with Guatemala and El Salvador and processing it into smokable bundles of tobacco.
History and Production: Tobacco Cultivation in Santa Rosa de Copán
Overall, the brand is one of the best-selling series in Germany; interestingly, it is completely unknown in the USA. The reason is simple: this brand is not sold in the USA at all! Due to the still-current US embargo against Cuba and the resulting dispute over trademark rights, we assume that this brand is sold under a different name in the USA. For Europe, the cigars are simply "re-labeled" for convenience. There are numerous examples of American blends that have been adapted to local legal requirements in this way.
Flor de Copan Linea Puros: Handmade Long-Fillers from Honduras
That need not concern European aficionados, however, as these cigars from Honduras are highly successful here on the German market. Each individual cigar is wrapped in a cellophane sleeve and then placed in very solid, heavy wooden boxes holding 20 cigars each. Thanks to the removable trays inside the boxes, the empty cigar boxes (once the inserts have been removed) can be used very effectively as humidors after all the cigars have been smoked.
Different Variants: Linea Puros, Clasica and Maduro at a Glance
Unlike its namesakes, this brand is made exclusively from Honduran tobaccos. Highly aromatic yet slightly creamy in the smoke, this version of the cigars from Flor de Copan appeals even to more experienced aficionados. Notes of roasted aromas pleasantly complement the cedar and leathery character, creating a well-rounded profile. In addition to Linea Puros , there are two other variants from the same Tabacalera: Flor de Copan Clasica (mild and creamy) and Flor de Copan Maduro (slightly more aromatic and sweet). Our overview brings together all cigars from Flor de Copan.
