Zino Honduras

Here I had the chance to dig through some “very old” records once again: We actually added the Zino Mouton Cadet Cigars to our shop in 2001 as the “quasi” predecessors or grandparents of these cigars. They were then discontinued in 2006. The original idea behind these Zino Cigars was to offer an alternative to Cuban Davidoff Cigars, which were unavailable on the American market due to the embargo. Cuban Davidoffs? Exactly, that goes back quite a while. In the early 1990s, the Swiss company moved its Davidoff Cigars production from Cuba to the Dominican Republic. We never carried these Cuban cigars in our shop, after all, we only started mail-order sales in 1997. Then came the Zino Scepter and Zino Crown in 2003, followed by the Zino Classic Cigars in 2006. Apart from the Zino Scepter XS, everything was discontinued again before being relaunched in 2021 with the “yellow” Zino Nicaragua.

With the Zino Honduras, Zino expanded its modern cigar portfolio in the summer of 2026 with a line aimed at aficionados seeking greater intensity and more aromatic depth. The series follows the already-mentioned successful relaunch of the brand with the Zino Nicaragua in 2021, which quickly built a loyal following. The typical Zino smoker is a polyglot, modern, and open-minded aficionado, at least in theory! While the yellow Zino Nicaragua is known for its uncomplicated and approachable character, the red Zino Honduras offers a somewhat fuller-bodied flavor profile.

As is well known, the Zino brand bears the name of Zino Davidoff, who more than almost anyone else embodied curiosity, openness, and the joy of discovering new worlds of enjoyment.
