Zino Cigars: King of the Cigar World
With this secondary line, the parent company Davidoff pays tribute to its legendary founder. Zino, the undisputed "King of Cigars," as his almost official nickname suggests, represents like no other the essence of inspirational enjoyment and an unrelenting curiosity that constantly drove him to create outstanding blends.
Since the 1980s
The Zino label boasts a long history: as early as the 1980s, there were cigars under this name. However, those times are long past, and the current Zino cigars have as much in common with the originals as Netflix has with a soap opera. The original Zino cigars were, more or less, born out of necessity: back then, regular Davidoff cigars from Cuba were unavailable in the United States due to the U.S. trade embargo. As a result, Davidoff decided to blend cigars in Honduras for the North American market.
Zino Davidoff: Still a Legendary Name
Today, Davidoff primarily produces in the Dominican Republic and is no longer affected by the trade embargo. Nonetheless, the name Zino still enjoys an excellent reputation in the cigar world. Reviving this line with fresh energy was only natural.
Relaunch
This came to fruition in 2021. The bright yellow packaging alone hints at it: here lies Caribbean joy for life. Following the values of its namesake—an uncompromising commitment to the highest quality and flawless craftsmanship—the new Zino Nicaragua presents a seductive blend.
The blend is particularly well-suited for larger formats. However, the relaunch also considered other options. A new cigarillo line, equally distinct in yellow as the cigar series, was also launched. After all, someone like Zino Davidoff wouldn't compromise on enjoyment, even during a short break.
