Astoria de Nicaragua Classic

For decades, the traditional brand Astoria de Nicaragua has stood for quality at fair prices. In Esteli, in northern Nicaragua, all vitolas of the Classic Series are produced entirely by hand—*totalmente a mano*—in classic tradition at the highly renowned Tabacalera Plasencia. Plasencia is one of the world’s leading manufacturers, and its cigars regularly receive top ratings. Especially the Plasencia Alma Fuerte line, which has seen steady expansion in recent years, has elevated the family’s reputation to new heights.
Astoria de Nicaragua: Traditional Cigar Craftsmanship in Esteli
All tobaccos used for the filler, binder, and wrapper of the Astoria de Nicaragua Classic are grown on vegas (plantations) surrounding Esteli. They all share a juicy, chocolate-brown hue for which the raw tobaccos of this region are renowned worldwide. Since the Astorias are delivered in bundles of 10, these Nicaraguan cigars can be offered at very affordable prices.
The Astoria Cigars: Handcrafted by Plasencia
A variety of vitolas are currently available. The two largest and thickest formats—Robusto and Double Corona—are also the most popular. Since 2024, we have been importing these cigars ourselves, as the previous importer, Darier & Cleef from Hamburg, has ceased operations. This importer was also responsible for the very popular Marca Fina cigars, which have been imported by the traditional Rellingen-based company Kopp Tobaccos since early 2024. Inquiries from retailers are, of course, welcome! Since Summer 2025, we've also been offering our customers the significantly larger formats of the Astoria Crimez cigars – ideal for fans of bold and powerful sizes at very fair prices. The gangster-style names of the formats, like Manslaughter and Kidnapping, aren’t really my thing, but as the saying goes, there's no accounting for taste!
