Dieses Format ist uns von Drew Estate angeboten worden, sie hätten einen größeren Posten des speziellen Formats mit dieser speziellen Kentucky Fire Cured Mischung verfügbar. Was sollen wir dazu sagen? Natürlich haben wir nicht lange überlegt und uns die mehr als 100 Kisten gesichert! Sie ist im Frühjahr 2020 eingetroffen und in der ganzen Corona-Zeit leider nicht gesondert vorgestellt worden.
Sie hat es aber verdient besonders erwähnt zu werden! Der Kaltzug ist vielleicht für den ein oder anderen Aficionado abschreckend: Ganz intensive röstige Feuerstellenaromen die an rustikalen Pfeifentabak erinnern. Angezündet verflüchtigt sich diese sehr schnell und bleibt als zarter rauchiger Unterton dann dauerhaft erhalten. Auch wenn das Format sehr klein wirkt, die KFC Flying Pig brennt ewig - mein Muster hat rund 1 Stunde und zwanzig Minuten Vergnügen bereitet.

20h30 auf meiner Terrasse am heißesten Tag des Jahres 2020 und die Flying Pig in der Hand. Der Kaltgeruch ist -gelinde gesagt- ungewöhnlich und ich bin mir noch nicht sicher, ob ich diese Zigarren in meinem Humidor lagern soll. Glücklicherweise verschwindet der penetrante Geruch nach Feuerannahme recht schnell. Ich werde von einem Cocktail Nr. 13 begleitet und der passt sehr gut. Zugwiderstand anfänglich hoch, wird aber dann recht schnell optimal. Tolle weiße Asche, welche recht kompakt bis zum Ende bleibt. Schöne Süße mit Barbecue-Feeling, ungewöhnlich bis zum Ende und auf jeden Fall eine Bereicherung - nur die Lagerung neben meinen Cohibas ängstigt mich noch immer... Nachtrag [14.08.]: Ich habe nun weitere 2 geraucht und bin sehr zufrieden mit der Qualität und dem Geschmack. In Bezug auf die Lagerung habe ich aber aufgrund des sehr torfigen Geruchs die Entscheidung getroffen, die "Flying-Pigs" zu separieren, da der Geruch sich zu stark im gesamten Humidor ausgebreitet hat.

This is a funny one. Yes it looks awesome and badass as hell. Yes it has 2 colors and yes the label and the little piglet tail you would cut off - all give a premium feel to it. And yes it is perfectly rolled and has an excellent consistence. BUT! This cigar is worth 12.50 Eur exactly once to try it and that is it. Unless you have a fat pocket and then yes - you can play with it whenever you want to feel funny with a cigar. It burns well and it is creamy. Strong, punchy aromas and flavours kick in from toke one. Humid, fat land soils, wet leather, coffee, forest toasty nuts, bit of grass, some pepper and plenty of solid, old wood. So yes a strong one. Everything comes out in a thick, creamy smoke that feels good on the senses if you like rough things. Goes excellent with spirits or strong, crude, fresh natural juices. All in all it feels like these moments in life you indulge in decadence. Or sin. From over-eating something you adore to cheating with the baddest ladies in the stinkiest of the brothels you can find. And for some people strong stinky experiences are good once in a while. BUT! You do not go to over eat at mcdonalds and pay like you would pay at a Michelin star. Or go to a brothel to get jiggy and pay like you would stay at Ritz. So no - 12.5 Eur for a mix of punchy flavours that last max 40 minutes is not my style. You can get the same format in a much more elegant version for 8.70 and that is the gorgeous Aurora 107 Zeppelin. Would I smoke this again? If discounted for sure. Should you? If you can afford experiments go ahead hit it! Peace and love!
