A single-flame cigar lighter is compact, economical in its gas consumption and allows precise control of the flame. For many Coronas, Robustos and similarly sized formats, a single jet flame is perfectly sufficient.

Two, three or more jets, on the other hand, cover a larger area and can speed up the lighting of particularly thick cigars. More flames, however, also mean higher gas consumption and often a larger body. The maximum number of flames is therefore not automatically the best choice; what matters is your preferred ring gauge and how you intend to use the lighter.

How to Light Cigars Properly with a Lighter

Regardless of the type of flame, the foot should not be held directly in the flame. Hold the heat a short distance from the cigar and rotate it slowly so that the tobacco lights evenly from the outside in. With a jet flame, keeping a greater distance is particularly important because of the concentrated heat. If the cigar goes out, gently remove any loose ash and relight the foot; if it is burning unevenly, carefully touch up only the area that has fallen behind.
