Horacio: A Flavor Explosion from the Land of Volcanoes
Founded in Switzerland in 2008, the Horacio brand set itself one goal: the ultimate smoking pleasure for the discerning aficionado. This is the top priority of the three friends and cigar lovers Christophe Leroy, Fabien Gil, and Sylvain Toaldo. When it comes to flavor and quality, they make no compromises.
From the Kitchen to the Cigar: Horacio
Sylvain is responsible for marketing and global distribution, which he organizes and coordinates from Switzerland. The other two, Christophe and Fabien, handle production in Nicaragua. Initially, they had their cigars produced in Costa Rica, but they have since moved production to Estelí, the cigar capital of Nicaragua. Their factory is located less than a kilometer east of the cathedral at the city's center.

The three passionate chefs wanted to be the first Frenchmen to develop premium cigars on the fertile soils of Latin America. Together with their Cuban, Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Dominican partners, they constantly test and blend new variations. Although the early days in Costa Rica were not always easy, the positive feedback from cigar lovers kept them going.
The Complex Rolling Technique of Horacio Cigars
The rolling technique used in the production of these cigars is a combination of Entubado and Empalmado, ensuring a perfect balance between strength and draw resistance. They personally select the leaves on-site from their suppliers to carefully assess the degree of fermentation, flavor profile, and burn characteristics.
To honor the trust placed in them by aficionados worldwide, Christophe, Fabien, and Sylvain dedicate themselves to selecting tobacco and crafting blends with the utmost care. Simply put, these three Frenchmen accept nothing less than perfection when it comes to quality.

The tobacco these quality enthusiasts source comes primarily from Nicaragua, with occasional additions from Costa Rica and Ecuador. The result is cigars with delicate, full-bodied blends and complex flavor structures. Notes of pepper, leather, and coffee emerge, followed by woody and sweet nuances of nut and honey as the smoking experience progresses.
Horacio was founded by three Frenchmen in Switzerland to create cigars that combine raw tobaccos from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Ecuador—cigars meant to be enjoyed all over the world. Bien fait, Messieurs!
