Arturo Fuente Anejo
In 1996, a hurricane struck the famous tobacco plantation of the Fuente family, “Chateau de la Fuente” in the Dominican Republic. As a result, there was temporarily no suitable wrapper available to produce the world-famous Opus X cigars by Arturo Fuente. In order to still offer these high-quality tobaccos to the demanding aficionados, Carlos Fuente Jr. decided to use a different wrapper. His choice fell on a five-year-aged, long-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro tobacco, which was matured in old cognac barrels.
Arturo Fuente Anejo: Unique Cigars With Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro
This gives this very rare cigar series a slightly sweet character on the palate and, as is generally typical for Arturo Fuente cigars, makes it highly complex and extremely intriguing. At the beginning, brown sugar dominates with only light nuances of wood or pepper. As the smoke progresses, aromas of molasses and fig develop, even giving way to hints of cocoa and anise. In the final third, it becomes increasingly earthy and woody, while the sweetness gradually fades away.
The Rare And Exclusive Series: Arturo Fuente Anejo Cigars
These are so-called “Super Rare Cigars.” For example, the importer for Germany received only just over 100 boxes for the entire year of 2018: so when they are available, it’s a matter of acting fast and trying them! Since then, the situation has not improved. Arturo Fuente Anejo cigars remain extremely rare and are now (unfortunately) priced accordingly high by the manufacturer for distributors worldwide.
