Arturo Fuente Destino Al Siglo

Within the very broad, diverse, and constantly expanding portfolio of Arturo Fuente cigars, it is difficult to keep track. These cigars were intended to be released to mark the 100th anniversary: the first Arturo Fuente cigars were rolled in 1912, so these cigars were originally planned to launch in 2012. However, due to adverse circumstances, including a fire in a warehouse, these cigars did not reach the market until 2013. Looking at the dates printed on the box, one is surprised to find that it refers to the year 2113. Accordingly, these cigars are more of a tribute and an anticipation of the next 100 years rather than simply a reflection on what has been achieved so far.

Arturo Fuente Destino al Siglo: A Tribute to 100 Years of Cigar History

Destino al Siglo can be literally translated as “Destiny for the Century.” We are already familiar with the word Siglo from the Cohiba cigars – it means century. The Cohiba Siglo 1 to 5 were introduced in 1992 to mark the five centuries since the discovery of America. But back to the Dominican Republic! Carlos Fuente and his son Carlito created true masterpieces with the Destino al Siglo cigars as a tribute to Carlito’s grandfather Arturo, who, at the age of 24, had the first Fuente cigars rolled in West Tampa in 1912. With an interruption of around 20 years due to a fire in the first factory, cigars have now been produced under the Arturo Fuente label for over 100 years – something to be rightly proud of!

Enjoy Slowly: Unlock the Full Potential of the Destino al Siglo Cigars

The four vitolas carry meaningful names: Amistad stands for friendship, Amor for love, Familias speaks for itself, and Pasion represents passion. The wrapper leaves come from the world-famous Vega (plantation) Chateau de la Fuente, where the wrappers of the equally renowned Fuente Opus X cigars are also grown. Regarding the binder and the filler, the manufacturer remains silent, but we assume they consist exclusively of the company’s own Dominican tobaccos. These are full-bodied cigars that have been available “from time to time” since 2013, but due to the special, limited tobaccos, they will not appear in large quantities. It is estimated that around one million Opus X cigars are rolled, while significantly fewer Destino al Siglo cigars are likely produced. These are Dominican cigars for truly special moments and should definitely be smoked slowly. We have already had this experience with other exclusive cigars from Fuente: they reveal only a small portion of their unusual, aromatic potential if smoked too quickly or too hot.
