Arturo Fuente Opus X Heaven and Earth

Describing—or rather writing copy for—Opus X cigars is somehow unusual. Normally, one aims to be as objective, well-founded, and engaging as possible, in order to encourage the interested cigar aficionado to try these cigars at some point, provided they match their taste profile and budget. With many of the limited and extremely rare Forbidden X and “classic” Opus X, they are already gone before one even has the chance to write about them. Be that as it may, since we serve as something of an encyclopedia for many aficionados, we still want to share a bit about them!

Opus X Cigars: A Milestone of Dominican Tobacco Craftsmanship

The first Opus X cigars were introduced in 2015. What was unusual at the time was that not only the filler and the binder, but also the wrapper came from the Dominican Republic. Then as now, this wrapper originated from the premium plantation Chateau de Fuente, where the Fuente family cultivated experimental crops and the fine tobaccos used for this innovative wrapper. Over the years, numerous special editions have been launched. The ones presented here are a collaboration with the accessory manufacturer Prometheus. The name is derived from the Greek god of fire. Through a long-standing relationship with Arturo Fuente Cigar Co., this manufacturer is practically part of the family and has been producing the official cigar cutters, lighters, travel cases, and humidors for decades. In addition, the God of Fire line is another example of collaboration between the two.

Prometheus and Fuente: Luxury Accessories Meet Cigar Craftsmanship

In 2018, Prometheus began shipping the Fuente Fuente Opus X Heaven and Earth. This series is part of the Fuente Aged Selection, which is produced by Arturo Fuente but sold through Prometheus. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation. Here you can find all series of Arturo Fuente cigars available in Germany. Ordering these cigars from the importer is somewhat unusual: the importer is happy to have received any at all and asks a select number of retailers whether they would like some. They always say yes immediately and order as much as their respective bank account allows. Regardless of the cigar or the price—this almost sounds like Cuban cigars, doesn’t it? In doing so, attention is always paid to how many “regular” Fuente cigars a retailer purchases. That’s why we are usually among the first in line.
