The luxury line within the brand, the OpusX cigars, was first launched in 1995 by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente. The idea—and the standout feature, then as now—was that all the tobaccos used in the OpusX cigars are grown in the Dominican Republic. For the wrapper leaves, only tobaccos from the Chateau Fuente plantation were originally used.

Over the past few decades, Tabacalera Arturo Fuente has collaborated with several partners such as Prometheus, Elie Bleu, and more recently, the OpusX Society founded by Manny Iriarte. This highly creative and successful designer has long had a close friendship with the Fuente family and has already worked with them on numerous projects involving packaging, humidors, cutters, and lighters. The first exclusive cigar from his OpusX Society is called La Edición de la Sociedad, which was announced in 2023 and finally reached us in late summer 2025. Although the OpusX Society operates independently from Arturo Fuente, it is supported by having its accessories and exclusive products integrated into the OpusX brand. While they were “supposed” to be imported to Germany via Kopp Tobaccos—like all other cigars from this house—the import of the Arturo Fuente OpusX Society cigars was handled by Hung Ma and his import company Pasion Puro, as he is a close friend of Manny.
