Ashton Aged Maduro

American Robert Levin founded the Ashton brand in 1985. Since then, they have been produced totalmente a mano (hand-rolled) by the most skilled Torcedores (rollers) in the globally renowned Arturo Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic.

Unlike the Classic, the Ashton Maduro is rolled with a very rare Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. As a result, these dark cigars start with a slight sweetness in the smoke and then develop into a richer flavor profile. They tend to exhibit nutty and subtly peppery notes, reminiscent of Port or Madeira. This is attributed to the significantly longer fermentation of the wrapper, which produces the natural sweetness. The binder and filler are the well-known Ashton blend of Dominican tobaccos.

Historical background of the Ashton cigar brand:

The name Ashton was derived from the famous pipe maker William Ashton Taylor, who crafts excellent pipes in England. Given the resonant name in the tobacco industry, which was already successfully used for the tobacco of the same name, it made sense to give it to top-notch cigars as well. Thus, the name Ashton stands for perfect quality in all areas of the tobacco world.
