Ashton Symmetry

The Ashton Symmetry cigars have been the first newly introduced cigars under the Ashton brand for almost 10 years. Due to a shortage of raw tobacco at the manufacturer Arturo Fuente in the Dominican Republic, the market introduction was somewhat delayed. According to Sathya Levin, the Vice President of Ashton, this line was supposed to be launched in the fall of 2013, then it was expected in the fall of 2014, and finally, it was introduced for the German market in September 2015 at the Inter Tabac fair in Dortmund.

For the wrapper, a seed from Ecuador is used, with a Dominican tobacco used for the binder. The filler consists of tobaccos from Nicaragua and from the Fuentes' home country, the Dominican Republic. Part of this tobacco is grown on the legendary Chateau Fuente farm, and a smaller portion is grown in Villa Gonzalez. The Nicaraguan component comes from the family-owned farm "Un buen Vecino" ("The Good Neighbor") near Esteli. All formats (vitolas) are slightly box-pressed, meaning they are not completely round but have a subtle square appearance.

The Ashton Symmetry cigars are the first under this label to be made with Nicaraguan tobaccos. Originally, these cigars were intended to be introduced much earlier, but a fire in a warehouse belonging to the manufacturer, the Fuente family, significantly delayed their delivery.

They are medium-bodied cigars that pamper the discerning aficionado with a gentle creaminess. In the first third, leather aromas dominate, followed by nuances of sweet figs, cinnamon, and even nougat.
