Casdagli Brothers of the Sabre

The cigar producer Jeremy Casdagli presents with the The Brothers of the Sabre cigars the first new line of Casdagli cigars developed by Hendrik Kelner Jr. since the introduction of the Cabinet Selection in 2016. This new cigar line was named after generals who fought in the Napoleonic Wars and became famous not only for their combat strength but also for their love of tobacco. The Brothers of the Sabre were introduced at the PCA Trade Show 2023 in Las Vegas. It is planned to launch two new lines each year over the next four years. Each General will have a small series of 2–3 vitolas. In addition, of the two lines released each year, one is intended for France and the other for the coalition of Great Britain, Prussia, Austria, and Russia. In total, eight generals will be honored.

The Brothers of the Sabre Cigars: A Tribute to Historic Generals

For the first release in 2023, two generals were honored: the “Brave” line for France’s Marshal Michel Ney (nickname “The Brave”) is subtle and smooth; it is the only one available here in Germany. The second is the “Forrader” line for Prussia’s Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher (nickname “General Vorwärts”) and has a deceptive strength.

Casdagli Cigars Honors Napoleon’s Generals: The New Line by Jeremy Casdagli

According to his own statement, Jeremy was already fascinated at the age of 8 by the fact that Napoleon wanted to conquer all of Europe and was moving through many countries of the continent with his armies. The aspect that particularly moved Jeremy was that Napoleon’s Grand Armée was partly responsible for spreading cigar smoking across the entire continent. It therefore seemed natural to him to honor the generals involved with their own cigar lines and formats. All of these generals carried their sabres in battle; therefore, he considered “Brothers of the Sabre” to be a fitting, dynamic name for these strategists.
