DBL Amarillo

The abbreviation DBL stands for Dominican Big Leaguer. Founder and owner Francisco Almonte has been active in the cigar industry for around 40 years. He started helping his father strip tobacco leaves at the age of 7, and by the time he was 13, he was already rolling cigars. Over the years, he worked for Arturo Fuente Cigars and most recently as production manager at Litto Gomez's La Flor Dominicana. Not a bad résumé to set up a factory of your own, right?

From Arturo Fuente to La Flor Dominicana: Francisco Almonte’s Path to His Own Factory

Since 2013, DBL has been rolling its own cigars and even cultivating its own tobacco. This gives Almonte a high level of control to consistently create stable and high-quality blends. His cigars are distributed in Germany by Pasion Puro, a relatively new distributor based in our lovely Düsseldorf. We've decided to categorize his cigars in line with his own website, which is why this category includes quite a few different formats.

Connecticut Cigars From the DBL Amarillo Series: Mild, Creamy, and Full of Character

Since there was still something clearly milder missing in the lineup, Francisco also launched the DBL Amarillo. These are arguably some of the most aromatic Connecticut cigars on the market. They offer a smooth, mild smoking experience full of creamy flavors. The elegant, natural-colored USA Connecticut wrapper encases a Dominican binder and a filler blend of Dominican and Brazilian tobaccos.

Francisco Almonte’s cigars are top-tier and can easily hold their own against other cigars from the Dominican Republic. He has a talent for creating consistently exciting cigars that are both flavorful and expertly crafted. You can find all his DBL Cigars here.
