DBL Nicaragua

The brand DBL by Francisco Almonte has quickly evolved from an insider tip to a staple in the humidors of many aficionados. Almonte relies on quality, in-house cultivation, and extensive experience. The foundation of his blends is always a deep knowledge of tobacco—whether from the Dominican Republic or, as in the case below, from Nicaragua.

La Union Becomes DBL Nicaragua: Same Blend, New Name

The DBL Nicaragua series is the only DBL line made entirely of Nicaraguan puros. Originally intended to be called “La Union,” the name had to be changed for legal reasons—though the blend itself remained unchanged. The wrapper is a Nicaraguan sungrown, paired with a Criollo binder and a filler made of tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe. Bold, earthy, and with the characteristic spice of Nicaragua—this is a must for fans of fuller-bodied cigars.
