Laura Chavin Classic

The Laura Chavin Classic cigars are perfect companions that turn every moment and time of day into a special enjoyment experience. They are ideal for both beginners and connoisseurs alike. Uncomplicated yet complex, suitable for everyday use and consistently extraordinary. The Classic Line combines tobaccos aged for at least four to five years, with the filler blend consisting of five different Dominican tobaccos. A Dominican binder and an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper are used. Finesse and expressiveness distinguish this series, captivating the cigar smoker with a complex and fragrant aroma. The Classic Line was reintroduced in the 2019 edition, featuring eight different vitolas that fully cater to the desires and preferences of cigar connoisseurs.

Background information on the company's history up to 2019:

This is definitely one of the (more recent) cigar brands with the most eventful past. It was founded in the early 2000s by Helmut Bührle, who named it after his daughter's first name. Interestingly, he emphasized that it should be pronounced "shaveen" and not à la française. Bührle was both a cigar merchant and a talented marketer when it came to outward presentation and premium "lifestyle." In the first 10 years, he built the Laura Chavin brand to significant size and skillfully positioned Laura Chavin cigars as premium cigars alongside Davidoff and fine Habanos. Fine suits with pocket squares, addresses in castles, and vaulted cellars as storage - Helmut Bührle lived life in the same style as his cigars.

In the mid-2010s, problems with supply shortages, a warehouse fire, delays with suppliers, and other irregularities with customers began to pile up. Observers noticed this, and the entire industry was aware that something was amiss. Unfortunately, we were also affected and had to write off losses in the form of paid but never delivered cigars.

Since 2019, Willy Knopf, a successful, independent marketing expert, and cigar enthusiast, has become the owner of the Laura Chavin brand and distributes it in Germany with a small sales force. He continues to work with the same Tabacalera in the Dominican Republic, the Altagracia factory owned by Austrian Günther Schichl (he also produces cigars under the names DAG and DAG por DAG). At the end of 2019, the new vitolas, developed by Willy in collaboration with Günther Schichl, arrived at our store. These are essentially very similar cigars, and anyone who enjoyed the "old" blends will undoubtedly enjoy the new ones as well!

In short, the "new" Chavins are first-class cigars that still look perfect and taste excellent. Willy Knopf was and continues to be convinced of the brand's potential and appearance and has personally invested a lot of energy and money into it.
